Marion Wrenn

Marion C. Wrenn is the Director of NYU Abu Dhabi’s Writing Program. She is a media critic, cultural historian, and literary editor who writes essays, fiction, and creative non-fiction, and poetry. She earned her PhD from NYU’s Department of Media, Culture, and Communication and has received grants and awards from NYU, NYU Abu Dhabi, the AAUW, and the Rockefeller Archive Center. She co-edits the literary journal Painted Bride Quarterly (pbq.drexel.edu) and co-hosts the literary podcast “The Slush Pile.” With Kathleen Volk Miller, she edited Humor: A Reader for Writers (Oxford, 2014) and her poetry has appeared in American Poetry Review, Poetics, and River Heron; her first collection of poetry, Gladiola Girls was published in 2025.
